Alternatives in focus!

The sun as a supplier of free energy
Anyone aware of the high cost of energy, who is still heating their property with technology from the 80’s or older will have thought about alternatives. The fact that modern heating systems not only save money, but also protect the environment is more than just a positive side effect. For some time now, renewable energies - in particular solar energy and heat pumps - have taken centre stage together with technologies, such as condensing boilers for oil and gas.
The sun as a supplier of energy
Of all the renewable energies the sun is the most important and straightforward supplier of energy. It is not necessary to stock up or depend on other fuels (such as wood for example). The sun might supply energy free of charge, but not around the clock. The free energy is therefore stored to meet demand twenty-four/seven.

Just two panels are sufficient to make a saving in energy
Utilising the sun’s energy - twice
Anyone who uses the sun can capture its energy in a number of ways and make twice the savings:
1. Energy for water
Solar panels on the roof capture the energy directly and can provide a large part of domestic water heating. Just two panels almost meet the DHW requirements of a four person household. Additional panels can be used to support the existing heating system.

2. Energy for heating

Whisper quiet air/water heat pumps from Weishaupt operate with very high efficiency
As the sun also heats the air, the rain and the soil, it also makes sense to utilise this energy.
The way to do this is to use
heat pumps: The energy can be extracted from the ambient air using an
air/water heat pump, from the groundwater using a
water/water heat pump or from the soil using a
brine/water heat pump. The “low” temperature energy source is converted to usable energy by compression and delivered to the heating circuit. The only thing needed is the energy for compression. The film “
Heat Pump Technology” explains in an easily to understandable way how the system works.
In new buildings and for renovation
Both systems, solar panels as well as heat pumps, are suitable for installation in new buildings and buildings which are being renovated. Which heating system in what combination would be most suited to save energy in you property, can be determined in consultation with your suppliers for Weishaupt products.
