Universal time coordinated UTC

The UTC is given by the atomic clock and has seconds as SI unit. This assures that time is always correct and that earth variations are considered. The UTC is used by many scientific and economic sectors (e.g. meteorology, aviation). Starting from the prime meridian, which is located in the London suburb Greenwich (therefore also named Greenwich Mean Time GMT), all times zones on earth are derived.
