Cirrus clouds

Cirrus clouds are the highest clouds. They are located in a height of 6 to 10 kilometers and consist of ice crystals. They can develop especially during large scale lifting of air masses. According to that they come up in front of a warm front. During summer they also can be seperated from far away situated thunderclouds. The veil patches also can show the wind direction in high levels.
