Downslope wind / Gravity wind

Downslope or gravity winds are winds which are directed dowanwards due to gravitation. Cold air is more heavy then warm air and flows down a hillside. In the Antarctica strong and cold offshore winds can develop due to cooling and thereby descending of the air over the antarctic ice shield. Also above the cold surface of glaciers so-called glacier winds blow in the direction of the valley.
